The story of Palmer Place is as historic as the history of Jefferson County, FL, itself. Martin Palmer, the builder, moved to Jefferson County with slaves, household goods and nine children in 1829. He became a successful planter and also owned a general store and tavern! He built our BIG house to accommodate his family. Adjacent to our property is the Palmer Cemetery, the only family cemetery in the county still associated with the family home. Come see our pictures showing the old to the new and relive the history of the house, its owners and how it became a bed and breakfast. |

| TOUR THE PALMER PLACE.... |
| The Grand Hall |
| Guests are welcomed into the elegance of the Grand Hall. Lantern lights above and oriental carpets underfoot traverse the length of the hall. | |
| The Sunporch | |
| The entire back of the first floor of the house is a long sun porch, completely heated and air-conditioned. It is here that we have breakfast and enjoy the beauty of the outside while drinking our first cup of morning coffee. In good weather the adjacent patio is a perfect place to read the morning paper before breakfast is served. | |
| The Sunroom | |
This small sitting porch on second floor has large windows on three sides. It is furnished in wicker, and is a popular place for guests to read and relax. |
| Upstairs Hall | |
| Here a large Oriental rug in the center provides cover for the late-nighters tiptoeing in. The comfortable sitting area encourages guests to visit and enjoy afternoon snacks and beverages. The door to the upstairs front porch is invitingly open in good weather to beckon guests to enjoy the view of the front yard with its giant live oak trees and camellias. |
